The Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CBCCT) was established in 2006 to offer a practice-based examination for practioners to document their skills and knowledge.

Eligibility requirements and examination materials for the Certification Examination in cardiovascular CT are developed based on substantial review and analysis of the current state of medical and scientific knowledge of cardiovascular CT as reflected in the medical literature. The CBCCT Examination Development Committee, with the assistance and advice of professionals in relevant fields, is developing a certification that will recognize accepted levels of expertise in the profession with the goal of improving patient care.

No certification program, however, can guarantee competence or successful treatment to the public. In addition, given the rapid changes in medical knowledge and the speed of scientific developments, the Board cannot warrant that the examination materials will at all times reflect the most current state of the art. The CBCCT welcomes constructive comments and suggestions from the profession. The CBCCT Certification Program is designed to comply with testing industry standards.
